Polly Harrison earned a B.A. in Music Education from the University of the Incarnate Word. In 1971, while at Incarnate Word, Polly Harrison and fellow student Kyle Keener organized the jazz duo Small World. Kyle sang and played drums while Polly played guitar, bass pedals and sang harmony. The two musicians have spent years performing at clubs, concerts and jazz festivals, often with guests like Marshall Royal, Clifford Scott, Carl Fontana, Bill Comstock , Bill Watrous, Richie Cole, Gilberto Puente, Gene Bertoncini, Bucky & John Pizzarelli, Herb Ellis, Cal Collins, Bob Dorough, and others. Polly’s friendship with Bucky Pizzarelli inspired her to take up the 7-string guitar and since then, she has become well known for her chord-melody expertise and her ability as an accompanist.
Small World has made a number of recordings including a Brazilian CD, a Christmas CD (with arrangements by Polly) and a Christmas CD with the Four Freshmen!
